What it replaces.

We are in early access, so there are no customer quotes to show you yet. Here is the honest version: these are the three things a trip normally gets planned in, and what goes wrong with each.

The spreadsheet

Great at columns, hopeless at “who is bringing the stove?”. Nobody opens it on the drive up, and the last edit always wins.

The group chat

The plan is in there somewhere, 400 messages back, between a photo of a trailhead and an argument about ice. Nothing has a current state.

Somebody’s notes app

One person holds the whole trip on their phone. When they lose signal, so does everyone else — including whoever needed to know you are overdue.

Common questions.

The phone app — currently in beta — keeps your Notebook and catch logs working with zero bars and syncs them to the trip the moment you are back in range. The web app needs a connection, so pack the phone app for the trip itself.
No. Missed-check-in alerts fire from our servers, not your phone. If you cannot check in because you are out of range past your deadline, your contacts still get the alert with your trip plan attached.
After a short grace window, your chosen contacts receive your custom emergency message along with the trip route, participant list, and your last known check-in time.
Yes. Trips support role-based access: planners can edit everything, participants can claim gear and log expenses, and viewers can follow along. Inviting someone is free and they do not need Pro.
Forever — no trial clock, no credit card. Free covers one trip that you create, with your whole group on it; joining trips other people invite you to is unlimited. Pro is $39 a year — about $3.25 a month — and adds unlimited trips and lists, your own templates, check-in alerts, Notebook sync and the Fishing pack.
Both are built and in beta, and they are where offline capture and the Pro in-app purchase will live. They are not in the app stores yet. Everything else works in the browser today on a phone, tablet, or laptop.
